Save the date! 5th World Conference of Women’s Shelters – Sydney, 15-18 Sep 2025

Wesnet (Women’s Services Network), together with the Global Network of Women’s Shelters (GNWS), will be hosting the 5th World Conference of Women’s Shelters (5WCWS) in Sydney, Australia from 15-18 September 2025. This will be the first time ever in the Southern Hemisphere!

With 1,000+ expected to attend from over 100 countries, 5WCWS will be the world’s largest conference by and for women’s shelters and those working to end gender-based violence. The global exchange at 5WCWS has the goal to contribute to a worldwide systematic approach to combating violence against women and their children to increase the safety, independence and strength of women worldwide.

This conference has been held four times previously in Canada, USA, Netherlands and Taiwan. Attendees have included shelter and refuge workers, along with government, non-government, corporate and academic leaders from around the world.
