Getting Around Washington, DC
The Gaylord National is just a 10-15 -minute drive from Washington, DC. You can take a taxi cab or shuttle service from the hotel into downtown Washington, DC or water taxis from the National Harbor into Old Town Alexandria, Virginia or into Washington, DC’s Georgetown neighborhood. The shuttle will only go to the following Metro stops: Old Post Office Station on the Blue/Orange Line and Union Station off the Red Line.

Taxi Cabs
In Washington, DC and at the conference location, taxi cabs are plentiful. They are all metered and only accept cash. There is also the
Alexandria VA - National Harbor Water Taxi that provides service daily between Alexandria in Virginia, the Gaylord National Hotel, and the National Harbor in Maryland.
Renting a Car
Car rental options are available at all three area airports with a number of options at varying prices. Parking is available at the Gaylord National Hotel for $19 a day.
Getting to and from the airport via:
SuperShuttle or ExecuCar
SuperShuttle, an airport shuttle service, will take you from the airport to the Gaylord Hotel upon your arrival and from the Gaylord Hotel to the airport for your departure. The WMATA bus
There is a bus (the NH1) that goes to the National Harbor. From Reagan, you board the Yellow Line train toward Fort Totten, transfer to the Green Line train toward Branch Avenue, and then at Branch Avenue Station you leave the rail system and transfer to the NH1 bus. You can use the WMATA Trip Planner to calculate time and costs.
WMATA Metro System
The easiest way to get around Washington, DC is the WMATA Metro System. Visit their website for information on fare costs, station locations, maps, how to plan your trip, and more. Metro does not go all the way to the Gaylord National. Delegates should plan to take a cab or hotel shuttle from the Gaylord National into Washington, DC and can then use the metro system to get around.
