Federal Per Diem Rate for Hotel Available

We are pleased to announce that the Gaylord National Hotel has offered a select number of rooms at the federal per diem rate. This rate is ONLY available for delegates who are paying for their hotel room with federal funds; in other words, your agency receives funds from the federal government, and you are paying for your hotel room with federal grant funds. Any attendee wishing to reserve a room under this block must adhere to the United States Federal Laws for using this rate.

Only a select number of rooms available at this rate and they are at a first-come, first-serve basis. To receive this special rate, contact the Gaylord National at (301) 965-4000 and request reservations under the Group Code A-VAWG1.

How do I know if my agency receives federal funds?

To find out if you agency receives federal funding you will need to check with your organizations executive director or the person who handles your organization's finances.

My Organization receives federal funds, but we're not using federal funds to pay for the hotel. Can I still get the rate?

This rate is only available to those paying for their hotel stay with federal funds.

I've already reserved my rooms at the regular rate. Can I change it to get the federal per diem rate?

If you qualify for the federal per diem rate you will need to call the Gaylord National at (301) 965-4000 and have them adjust your reservation. When you call you will need to reference the Group Code A-VAWG1 in order to receive the per diem rate.

Why is this rate only available to a select group of attendees?

Any travel done using federal funds must adhere the to United States Federal Laws, including hotel stays. To allow for more attendees to attend this conference the hotel has offered a select number of rooms at the reduce federal per diem rate to those traveling with federal funds.

OVW-Funded Programs May Use OVW Travel Funds to Attend

We are excited to announce that the U.S. Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) will allow grantees to use OVW travel funds to attend the 2nd World Conference of Women's Shelters. If you are a program located in the United States or U.S. Territories and receive funds from the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), you may use your OVW travel funds to attend the conference. A grant adjustment notice (GAN) must still be issued by your OVW program specialist. Please contact us for a copy of the email stating this to submit with your GAN request.

Can you tell me if I receive OVW funds?

We do not know if you receive OVW funds. You will need to check with your executive director or the person who handles your organization’s finances.

If my organization does not receive OVW funds, can I apply for OVW travel funds?

This opportunity is open only to current recipients or grantees of OVW grants. If you do not currently receive OVW grant funding, then this opportunity does not apply to you.

How do I apply for OVW funds?

For more information about the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women grant programs, visit their website. As the 2nd World Conference of Women’s Shelters organizers, the National Network to End Domestic Violence has no information on how you can apply for OVW grants.

Does the 2nd World Conference of Women’s Shelters fulfill my training requirements under my grant?

We do not know if the 2nd World Conference of Women’s Shelters will fulfill your training requirements under your grant. All grants have different requirements. You will need to check in with your OVW grant manager for that information.
