Dr Mukwege Speaks about Sexual Violence against Women and Girls

Sep 4 2015 - The 3rd World Conference of Women's Shelters is proud to announce Dr. Mukwege as one of its key speakers this November in The Hague, the Netherlands. Even though the first two conferences were very successful, continuous action remains crucial to end violence against women. Dr. Mukwege is a world-renowned surgeon and is the director of Panzi Hospital in Eastern Congo. Together with his staff, he has cared for more than 30,000 survivors of sexual violence. At the conference he will speak about sexual violence, and raise awareness of women’s rights in conflict zones.
